Spouting Horn

Spouting Horn - Wave action forces water through a lava tube that belches before it blows in Lawai .

It goes off when surging waves roll underneath a pitted rock formation. The force of the wave shoots water up a hole resulting in a bellowing geyser. It’s south of Koloa; take Poipu Road to the Poipu/Lawai sign and turn right towards Lawai. It’s at the end of Lawai Road with plenty of parking. You’ll pass the visitor center for the National Tropical Botanical Garden.

The stretch of sand fronting Lawai Beach Resort is popular with snorkelers and has a good surf break outside the reef, Kuhios.
