Rainy Day Fun

WATERFALLS, RAINBOWS AND RAINFORESTS
•Rainy days are great for flightseeing. Gushing waterfalls are abundant and rainbows are often found above them.
•It’s enchanting to be under a canopy of ferns and palms during a warm shower. For a true rainforest experience, take a garden tour in the rain. Most public plantings offer umbrellas.

PHOTO TIPS
You can take some of your best photos on rainy days. Just be sure to move in close to your subject and protect your camera. Keep it dry under a slicker or jacket.

Although the sky appears gloomy, other subjects like grass can appear brighter. Bright umbrellas and colorful rain gear can warm up a rainy picture. Reflections in puddles give another dimension to your pictures. Find a good position to snap the action from under an overhang, or inside a car with the window open.

IT’S WET HERE BUT DRY THERE
It’s not uncommon to have rainy or cloudy weather on one part of the island, while the sun shines brightly elsewhere. If your heart’s really set on getting some sun on a day that looks cloudy or rainy, call for a weather update, 961-5582. Remember, even if you do get caught in the rain it’s likely to be a “blessing” of warm, tropical rain.
